New Owners: When purchasing a puppy or a dog from a breeder, please BEWARE of unscrupulous breeders refusing to hand over registration papers. There is no justifiable reason as to why you should not be given your papers. If the registration papers are not handed over when you purchase your Alaskan Malamute, you will not be able to have this dog transferred into your name and should you wish to show or breed your dog, you will be unable to do so unless you are given authority by the breeder, who will still be the legal, registered owner.
Note to the Breeders: Please hand over the registration papers when selling your Malamutes. Without the new owners being able to register their Malamutes, the Club is unable to keep an up-to-date, accurate breed register, and in years to come, there will be very few historical records for the new generation of Malamute owners. |
